How the AI RPG Works

Pick a world
Thirteen hand-built worlds, from a fantasy village to Victorian London. Each one is a real place with its own people, streets and routines.

Make your character
Play a ready-made villager, or design your hero's look in the hero designer. You arrive as the newcomer, so nobody knows you yet.

Type what you do
Talk to anyone, act, travel, take on tasks. The AI narrates what happens and plays every other character. When you would rather watch, let the storyteller move the scene along.
A Text-Based RPG With Pictures
Like the classic text RPGs, Mythx is played by typing. There is no command list: write what you want to do in plain words, and the AI narrates what happens. Your first scenes also come with an illustration of the moment. Free play continues in text after that, and Premium adds up to 100 illustrated scenes a day.
A Solo RPG Where the World Has Its Own Day
You play alone, and nobody waits on a party. The people in each world have jobs and routines, there are tasks to take on and places to travel, and the day moves on as you play. Step away and the clock pauses, so you come back to the world as you left it. The people you meet remember what you told them.

Is this AI RPG free?
Yes. It is free to start in your browser with no sign-up. Free play includes 10 scenes a day, and your first scenes come illustrated; after that, free scenes continue in text. Premium ($4.99 a week, $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year) adds unlimited story and up to 100 illustrated scenes a day.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Mythx runs in the browser on a computer or a phone. There are also apps for iOS and Android if you prefer them.
Is it a text-based RPG?
Yes. You type what your character does in plain words, with no command list to learn, and the AI writes what happens next. Your first scenes also come with a picture of the moment.
Can I play it solo?
Yes. Mythx is single-player. The AI plays every other character, so there is no group to wait for and no schedule to keep.
Is it like Dungeons & Dragons?
It is closer to playing with a game master than to a rules system. There are no dice or character sheets: the AI narrates the world and voices its people, and you decide what your character says and does.
Can I create my own world?
No. Every story takes place in one of the 13 hand-built worlds, which is what lets their people keep jobs, routines and memories of you. You can design your own hero’s look.
Is it safe for teens?
Mythx is filtered and has no mature setting. Players must be 13 or older, with a parent’s or guardian’s consent for minors.
